Study award from the SEW Eurodrive Foundation for Jannick Erhard
Master's thesis on absorption spectroscopy of hydrogen in energy conversion systems
2024/06/01
Jannick Erhard, PhD student at TRR 150, has been awarded the SEW-Eurodrive Foundation's 2024 Student Award for his master's thesis “Development and Test of a Laser Absorption Spectrometer for the Quantitative Measurement of Hydrogen in Energy Conversion Systems”.

In his master's thesis, supervised by Philip Linke and Steven Wagner, Erhard developed an absorption spectrometer that can be used to quantitatively measure hydrogen in energy conversion systems. Absorption spectroscopy is an optical method for characterizing species. It is non-invasive and highly sensitive and has become the most important technique for the quantitative evaluation of atoms and molecules in the gas phase.
The prize was presented by Prof. Sigmar Wittig, former Chairman of the DLR Executive Board.
The SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation awards the student award of 2,500 euros in recognition of outstanding scientific work and projects in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and economics.
