Research in the field of dynamics of explosions and reactive systems honored
Dr.-Ing. Christina Straßacker from the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and member of the CRC/TRR 150 has received the John H. S. Lee Young Investigator Award at the 28th ICDERS, an prize which is awarded to encourage young scientists to undertake research in the dynamics of explosions and reactive systems.

Dr.-Ing. Arne Scholtissek wins “Jürgen Warnatz Preis”

Work on numerical simulation and modelling of chemically reactive flows honoured
Dr.-Ing. Arne Scholtissek from the Institute for Simulation of reactive Thermo-Fluid Systems (STFS) has been awarded the Jürgen Warnatz Preis at the 30th “Deutscher Flammentag”. Scholtissek receives the Warnatz Preis in recognition of his outstanding work in the field of combustion, especially in the numerical simulation and modelling of chemically reactive flows.

Prize of Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation for KIT young researcher
Dr.-Ing. Marion Börnhorst, a senior scientist in the Deutschmann group at KIT, has been awarded this year's doctoral thesis award of the Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation. Her thesis is entitled “Urea-Water Sprays in NOx Emission Control Systems: Interaction with Solid Walls and Deposit Formation”.
